JULIE JOHNSON

boys are better in books

One of my favorite things about reading is the freedom we have, as readers, to paint a character any way we want in our minds. (Don't like a heroine's eye color? BOOM -- blue becomes green. Don't like male heroes with chest hair? BAM -- gone in a flash.) There's something magical about that. I think it's so cool that while many of us are in love with the same fictional book boyfriends, if we were each to draw them on paper, they'd probably look radically different!

BUT, at the same time, I also love to fantasize that if my books were ever turned into movies, the actors chosen to play the leads would look at least sort of like the vision I had in my head when I created them. And for SAY THE WORD, there are only a handful actors I could ever see playing Bash and Lux, Faith and Simon, and -- of course -- Jamie.

So, without further ado, here's my "dream cast" for SAY THE WORD. And, before I forget, if you want to get in on the casting action, head over to THE IF LIST website and check out some of the actors my other readers have cast as their Bash/Lux/Jamie/Fae/Simon favorites! It's fun and addicting.
