Big News. (Huge.)

July is my month.

Not only is it my birthday (I turned 33 on July 3, how rad is that?!) it also always ends up being full of fun surprises. The first of which I get to share with you RIGHT THIS VERY MOMENT!

Because today, I’m unveiling the stunningly beautiful cover art for the US hardcover edition of THE WIND WEAVER from my wonderful US publisher Berkley ACE. (An imprint of Penguin Random House.)

Not only that, below I’ll also be sharing the official book description, links to preorder your copy, and a fun interview I did about the trilogy in an exclusive first look from Paste Magazine…

Seriously, I can’t get over how beautiful it is. I feel so beyond blessed to have such amazing artwork (from the incredibly talented illustrator Tom Roberts) grace the cover of my first ever fantasy novel. I’m even more excited to see what it looks like in glorious hardcover on shelves in Target, Walmart, Barnes & Noble, and my favorite indie bookstores next April.

It’s a dream come true.

Between the cover reveal this week and book two (title still top secret, sorry!) due to my editors at the end of this month, life has been busy. But in a good way. I’m someone who struggles with sitting still and taking a break between projects — even when my mind and body demand one. (What can I say, I’ve never really grown out of the task-oriented, Type A, overachiever mindset I adopted back in high school AP classes.)

It’s crazy to think all three books in the Reign of Remnants trilogy will be written by the time book one hits shelves next April. It’s such a shift from the rapid-fire publishing schedule I’m accustomed to with indie publishing. At first, this sudden shift in pace gave me a bit of whiplash. But now, I’ve really grown to enjoy the structure. (Go figure!)

As the lead up to book one’s launch date grows closer, I’ll be sharing more and more fun teasers, excerpts, and character artwork. Make sure to follow along over on my Instagram, where I post the most regularly these days.

Like I said at the start of this email, July is my month. It always has been, since I was a little girl. When I was young, I was thoroughly convinced that the 4th of July fireworks were in honor of my birthday. (Aren’t they, though?)

It’s been hot and humid here in Massachusetts, and I’ve spent every spare minute I’m not writing, editing, or answering emails at the beach. My brother and his wife came to visit from California with my baby niece, which was lovely. I’m really enjoying my new status as the enigmatic aunt who buys cute outfits and soaks in the newborn cuteness — without any of the real parental responsibility. Haha.

I also finally found the time to stop by Beacon Hill Books and Cafe, the cutest little bookshop Boston has to offer. I’ve been meaning to pop in since it first opened and I am happy to report it was every bit as cozy and charming as it appears on social media. Lunch was delicious (I had the haddock chowder and the quiche, sublime!) and I never turn down an opportunity to buy a new book or three…

Speaking of books… I haven’t had much time to read lately, but I did pick up a copy of a new Mulan retelling called “The Night Ends With Fire” by K.X. Song which I’m eager to dive into. The cover is unbelievably stunning! And I’m about a quarter of the way through “Dishonestly Yours” by queens of angsty, addictive romance Krista & Becca Ritchie. Like all their books, I know it will be tough to put down!
